The Student Right-to-Know Act (P.L. 101-542)

Lehigh Carbon Community College provides information on the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act in compliance with federal regulations. The purpose of this pamphlet is to furnish students with information that may help them select the higher education institution that best meets their needs. In considering this information, students should keep in mind the multiple missions of a community college. These statistics can be most accurately compared to those of other public two-year institutions

What is the Student Right-to-Know Act

The Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act (P.L. 101-542) requires that all institutions of higher education in the United States furnish students with statistics regarding completion and transfer rates. These rates are calculated using a system designed to follow or “track” the enrollment behavior of a selected group of students over an established period of time. The specifications for tracking students are set by the federal government in the regulations which accompany this Act.
